With the index of sunlight intensity already at heightened levels in this vineyard due to its altitude, the 2004 vintage, with its drier than usual conditions and lower relative humidity, saw an increased effect of this phenomenon on the Malbec grapes in particular. There was a marked increase in the skin thickness and the corresponding enhancement in polyphenol and phytoaxelin levels.

The single-vineyard 2004 Malbec “Adrianna Vineyard” from the Gualtallary district is inky purple with aromas of wood smoke, pencil lead, game, black cherry, and blackberry liqueur. Opulent, full-flavored, yet remarkably light on its feet, this medium to full-bodied Malbec is all about pleasure. It will certainly evolve for a decade but is hard to resist now. It is a fine test of one’s ability to defer immediate gratification.

Wine Enthusiast
Adrianna sits at 5,000 feet, making it one of the highest vineyards in all of Mendoza. The wine shows pure Tupungato mountain fruit, with deep chocolaty undertones and lots of fine, toasty French oak. For deep berry flavors and smoothness more than rough and tough, Adrianna is on the money. Drink now through 2011.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
