Domaine des Baumard
Quarts de Chaume is probably the most famous ‘Cru’ of the Loire Valley. There are around 45 hectares of vines in production of Quarts de Chaume, 6 of which are the Domaine des Baumard.
Food Pairing: Aperitif with foie gras or rillettes canapés. Melon, Foie gras, chicken liver. For the amateurs: fish in Hollandaise sauce. Blue cheeses (Roquefort, Gorgonzola, Stilton). White deserts only: Crème anglaise.
Fruit: pears, poached peaches, almonds. All kinds of red berries (and red-fruit sauces), apples, chocolate are to be avoided.
Wine Spectator
"Highly Recommended" A jaw dropper, with orange blossom, persimmon, fig and quince flavors that remain remarkably bright and light, thanks to the riveting acidity and a superfine, minerally finish. Pure and perfectly balanced, this refuses to break down in the mouth. The best since the monster 1995. Drink now through 2032.

Wine Enthusiast
From arguably the finest sweet wine vineyard in the Loire, here is a wine that is deceptively fresh on first taste. Then the huge richness kicks in, balanced with blood oranges, white fig and pear flavors, and a mineral character. Complex, this needs many years to develop; superb.

Wine Advocate
Given a hard act to follow in the 2004, Baumard’s 2005 Quarts de Chaume displays the most obviously botrytized, white raisin, and shriveled fruit character of any of their recent wines that I tasted. Over-ripe melon and pear, candied grapefruit, marzipan and raisin are accented by brown spices and herbal candy notes. Impressively lush and long, this should evolve interestingly over up to two decades, but will doubtless remain relatively plump and baroque in character.

Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying.
